About the Creator
Luo is a 2012 alumnus of Huaqiaocheng Senior High School in Shenzhen, where he studied science. In an interview with Dute News, he connected that training to the logical thinking and attention to detail needed to balance a film’s creative development with its practical execution.
Recalling the roughly three-year development of Dear You, he described financial pressure and difficulties with settings, costumes and the screenplay. The team repeatedly reviewed the script, pacing and production plans. He said the families behind the letters drew them to the subject, which they approached through a measured pace and room for emotion to unfold.
