Zheng Zhengqiu
郑正秋Zheng Zhengqiu (1889–1935) was one of the founding figures of Chinese cinema and a pioneer of the family melodrama genre. Born into a Chaoshan merchant family in Shanghai, he collaborated with Zhang Shichuan in 1913 to make The Difficult Couple, China's first narrative short film. In 1922 he helped found the Mingxing Film Company, and over his lifetime directed 53 films. A proponent of cinema as a vehicle for social realism and the voice of ordinary citizens, he is regarded as a forerunner of the "didactic film" school.

郑正秋是中国电影事业的奠基人之一，中国家庭伦理片的开拓者。出身上海潮商家庭，1913年与张石川合作拍摄中国第一部故事短片《难夫难妻》。1922年参与创办明星影片公司，一生共导演53部影片。他主张电影应关注社会现实、为小市民发声，是"教化电影"理念的先驱。
