Springtime KwanTeo 2022
新春观潮2022Springtime KwanTeo took place in Chaozhou on 5–6 February 2022. Across two days, the programme brought together a retrospective, a city walk, conversations among filmmakers and a four-short Spring Festival screening.
About the Topic
On the first day, Ding Quan and Chen Jianhang led a walk through Chaozhou structured around the 1911 burning of Zhenhai Tower. Producer Guo Xiaodong also discussed the Vietnamese film The Tree House in a makers' salon, alongside the programme's retrospective exhibition.
The following day's Unfinished Draft forum brought four projects into discussion. The evening screening had a separate four-short selection; its films were not the same as those discussed in the forum. A filmmakers' dinner closed the two-day gathering.
