我把神仙镶上天Embedding Gods into the Sky is a feature project centred on Chaoshan inlaid porcelain. A female artisan is kept outside an ancestral hall by clan rules and must find a way to live with that exclusion.
About the Work
In Embedding Gods into the Sky, a female artisan is barred from an ancestral hall by clan rules. The project places her experience alongside Chaoshan inlaid porcelain, the craft at the heart of her work.
Director Jin Hong has spoken about the ancestral-hall rooftops that gave the project its central image. The artisan's life and the figures she creates in porcelain speak to one another as she navigates family and tradition. Still in preparation, the project received the Jury Special Recommendation for a feature project from the NewHer section of the 16th Beijing International Film Festival.
