侨路烽烟The feature film project centres on the wartime Dongxing remittance route. Following the lives of qiaopi couriers and remittance operators, it explores how money and letters carried through war sustained ties between overseas Chinese communities and their families at home.
About the Work
The project connects Móng Cái in Vietnam and Dongxing in Guangxi with the Chaoshan and southern Fujian regions. It is jointly produced by Guangxi Xinsen Investment Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Qiaosheng Cultural Industry Development Co., Ltd.
The creative team has conducted field research along the Dongxing route. On 12 October 2026, the team attended a meeting in Fangchenggang with local departments to discuss historical sources, screenplay development and collaboration between Guangxi and Guangdong. Historical materials collected by Lin Huijiang, founder of the Dongxing Qiaopi Museum and the film’s chief planner, have supported the project’s development.
According to a report published on 16 October 2026, the screenplay had undergone several rounds of revision and the lead cast was in the final stages of selection. Filming was planned for the first quarter of 2027, with the film intended to reach audiences later that year.
