英歌Yingge Dance is Zhu Xiaopeng’s animation project about an instructor whose student rekindles his commitment to the dance. Its hand-drawn teaser introduces a story rooted in Dahao.
About the Work
Local historical writing and guidance from a dance practitioner informed the teaser’s characters and settings. The animation carries Zhu’s memories of his hometown.
A 2023 trade-fair report described the subsequent film project as undergoing script and character development. That later project remains distinct from the publicly released teaser.
