Lu made Guanbu A Week as a graduation feature. In the 71-minute Chaoshan-language film, high-school student Lin Yanting plans to skip the college entrance examination and travel to Guangzhou with a friend who has already started working. With train tickets booked for a week later, they spend their remaining days in town. The film was shot in the Shantou and Jieyang areas and received a Special Mention in the FIRST FRAME section of the 2022 FIRST International Film Festival.
In Teoswa Sonata, university students Weitao and Yanna return to Shantou for the summer. Their plan to save for a trip to Xiamen changes after a business attempt fails and they each take a summer job. In his statement for the Eye Catcher project presentation, Lu described an interest in the places the couple visit, the food they eat, the money they have left and the people they meet. The project received the Eye Catcher Global 2025 Asian New Director Award.
