About the Creator
Fan Jiawei directed Fu Yan / The Banquet (TBC) and is directing YING HU HUI ZHI (TBC), a crime comedy still in production. In the latter project, a Chaoshan middleman disrupts a ceremony held by a local notable and becomes caught in a deal shaped by mistaken identities. He eventually risks his own safety to save a friend through an Yingge performance. The film uses Teochew, Cantonese and Mandarin, bringing Chaoshan ancestral halls and Yingge dance into its crime-comedy story.
