Lai Xinyun
赖心韵Lai Xinyun directed a Shantou University student film built from four stories about the city and its residents.
About the Creator
Lai first developed one of the stories as a short course assignment. Hu Lufeng encouraged her and her classmates to continue telling these Shantou stories through film, and more than thirty students eventually took part in the production.
The finished film brings together encounters involving a joss-paper shop, a returnee from overseas, a newcomer to the city and the use of Mandarin in everyday life.
