KwanTeo Night — Springtime 2024
新春观潮之夜2024At Springtime KwanTeo 2024 in Dahao Ancient Town, Shantou, five shorts connected to Chaoshan screened on the second evening of the festival. The program was then called the Spring Screening.
About the Topic
The two-day gathering in Dahao combined walks through the old town with filmmaker programs, conversations and screenings. Its closing short-film program took place on February 14, 2024. Under the name Spring Screening, it was an early spring edition of the event later grouped within KwanTeo Night.
The five films approached Chaoshan from different directions: male friendship and changing ties between places, women's encounters with their immediate surroundings, and histories carried across the Taiwan Strait. Seen together, they offered a wider picture of what a Chaoshan-connected short film could hold than any single theme or genre.
