似水流年Shanshan (Josephine Koo), living in Hong Kong, returns to her Chaoshan hometown after twenty years when her grandmother passes away — both to mourn and to escape the pressures of city life. Compared with the fast-paced city, her hometown still holds the plain and enduring life she remembers. She reunites with childhood friends Azhen (Siqin Gaowa) and Xiaosong (Xie Weixiong), now a married couple; her arrival stirs the tranquil village life. Behind her glamorous city life lie hidden hardships: the early death of her father, estrangement from her sister, and failed relationships. As the brief homecoming ends, how will everyone's life change after this long-awaited reunion? The film won the Best Picture award at the 4th Hong Kong Film Awards.

在香港生活的珊珊（顾美华 饰）得知祖母在乡下过世，动身返回阔别20年的潮汕老家，为祖母奔丧，同时也是想借机逃离城市里的烦恼。与快节奏的城市生活相比，珊珊的老家依旧保持着记忆中朴实隽永的生活。珊珊与儿时的玩伴阿珍（斯琴高娃 饰）和孝松（谢伟雄 饰）重逢，此时的两人已结为夫妻，珊珊的到来打破了原本波澜不惊的乡间生活。 而珊珊光鲜的城里人生活的背后是不为人知的艰辛和无奈：父亲的早逝、与妹妹的决裂、感情生活受挫……短暂的归乡旅程结束，故事中每个人的人生又会因这场久别重逢发生怎样的变化呢？ 《似水流年》获得第四届香港电影金像奖最佳影片、最佳导演、最佳剧本、最佳女演员 、最佳新人、最佳美术指导6项奖。
