归潮·家己人A descendant of Chaoshan diaspora in Thailand carries his grandfather's ashes back to their ancestral homeland. Through the emotional bond of Yingge dance — a national intangible cultural heritage — the film follows the journey of "returning to Teoswa" across ten thousand miles.
About the Work
A young overseas Chinese unlocks the lifelong secrets buried in his elders' hearts, enduring countless trials just to "return to the tide" and resolve old wounds — just to "return to the nest." The film is supervised by Xue Xiaolu (薛晓路), the renowned Chinese screenwriter and director of the Finding Mr. Right series. It is based on Chen Chongzheng's novel Return to Teoswa, which won Guangdong Province's 13th "Five One Project" Award. Key characters: A Nan (male, 32, Thai-Chinese third generation), Chen Hongli (elderly 98 & young 25, grandfather), Lin Yuguo (female, 79, daughter of Lin Hanxian).
