A Summer's End Poem
夏日句点Lan Canzhao's Chaoshan-language short Summer's End Poem uses a haircut to follow a child's passage towards adolescence.
About the Work
After returning to film in his home town of Chifeng, Lan paid closer attention to the everyday lives of its children and older residents. Summer's End Poem takes a haircut as the small event through which a boy begins to sense a change in himself.
The film received the international jury's Best Short Film award in the Generation section of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival and appeared in KwanTeo's summer screenings.
